Text Box: Friday was probably the most thought provoking day of the week. Dr. Ward of the University of Bridgeport came to talk to us about South America and teach us a little something about its history.
Grethel Burch, Spanish teacher at BIA came to talk about her native land of Peru. She gave an interesting talk and used a slideshow to illustrate its beauties.
Mr. Noel Cleary, ESL teacher, spoke about his 12 year stay in Saudi Arabia. He shared his knowledge and his many experiences that he had while living in a desert culture.
Text Box: General Kalangala told the story of his years in the army of his native land of Congo. He gave an inside look into Congolese culture and traditions. All the speakers on Friday were very inspired about their topics and delivered well rounded and enthusiastic talks on those areas of the world.

Text Box: Activities
Text Box: Every afternoon during “Global Studies” week we participated in activities such as: games, dance, and sports. Some of these were opportunities for the whole school to experience unfamiliar activities.
On Monday everyone played a game of yute (a Korean game). It was taught by Mr. Ahn, who was assisted by a number of students. The winning team was number 1, who won a prize of 100 dollars. On Tuesday and Wednesday the girls and boys alternated between martial arts, and Text Box: ballet, since ballet is associated with Russia. Martial arts was taught by Mr.Sohn. Ballet was taught by Mr. Jager. Both were exciting and fun.
On Thursday the whole school joined in the Assembly room to have a session of square-dancing. Dr. Spurgin and Mrs. Tecun taught how to square-dance. On Friday the students played sports, taught by Kirstin and Mike Zambon. Overall the school had an exciting week full of activities.
