Text Box: Mrs. Evensen and Mr. Jager, since that’s where they both have spent time, gave a presentation on Scandinavia. We saw power point presentations and movies to introduce us to the countries and ate traditional foods such as goat cheese and a tasty Christmas drink.
What Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland have in common is the highest standard of living in the world, Text Box: extreme amounts of money, and well organized social systems.
We were taught about geography, culture, and how Scandinavians are known to be the healthiest and happiest people in the world.

Text Box: Seminar week was a great time for learning about the world and its countries through global studies.
When the students of BIA took the Russia class for Global Studies we learned about Russia’s geographic landscapes, culture, climate, and traditions. We studied the map of Russia learning its highlands and lowlands, as well as climate variations throughout the country. Then we watched a power point Text Box: presentation that explained some of the Russian landmass and how it’s the biggest landmass in the world. We also learned about some of the Russian traditions. One of the traditions is that every person has a Matryoshkas or, nesting doll which is one of those wooden sets of dolls that are put inside one another.
Overall we, the students of BIA, have learned a great deal from seminar week and hope to learn more about the Text Box: Asia

Text Box: Mr. Sohn and Mr. An demonstrated and elaborated about Asia from its traditions to its modernization. They demonstrated how to write and draw Chinese calligraphy (not as easy as I thought it would be), also how it originated. The most enjoyable segment was origami. This included boxes, balls, and cranes made of paper squares.
We also watched videos about Buddha, both North and South Korea, and about the written language. I learned the Buddha’s real name was Gautam Sidata. This was an exciting week.
