Text Box: On Friday, March 30th, Bridgeport International Academy sponsored a “lock in” for the BIA boys in the Marina Learning Center. About twenty students arrived around 9:00 pm and left the next day at about 9:00 am. The chaperones were Rolando Tecun, Mike Zambon and Chris Martinez. Four movies were shown, including Little Man and Talladega Nights. Intense board games like monopoly created variety. There was loud music and plenty of food provided-Zebra Cakes, Swiss Rolls and a variety Text Box: of chips. People brought video games for the X box and Game Cube that were hooked up to the television and the projectors. 
The girls had their “lock in” on April 13th. They also started arriving at 9:00 pm, and left at 9:00 am the next morning. About fifteen students attended. With Hyoja Tully as the chaperone they watched movies, like Unrest and The Road to Perdition. There was plenty of food from chips and dip to Dunkin’ Donuts. They played hours of card games, game cube, and Text Box: DDR, which were hooked up, with the projector. Around 2:00 in the morning they received a drop in visit from the two new Japanese girls, Mari and Kofusa, who had just arrived from the airport. Students had fun eating and just hanging out. Many of the people said they enjoyed it a lot and can’t wait for the next one.

Text Box: students have a shorter lunch period. This new class structure allows the students to be more creative with activities such as, cooking, theater, band, art, and sewing. Also with gym and yoga three times a week, the students have a chance to be more active. This new schedule creates a balance between academic and creative activities.
Text Box: The teachers felt like there needs to be more balance between physical and creative activities and academics. Teachers and staff reevaluated the students schedule and made a single period just for physical and creative activities. Now, instead of the normal classes, there is an extra 4th period class for creative and physical activities. The Text Box: -Emma Tecun

Text Box: in Mertens Theatre in the Arnold Bernhard Center, also known as the ABC Building. Everyone was invited to attend this fun play and support our hardworking students during their performance. The school band, under the direction of Mr. Rolando Tecun, opened for the performance. It was overall an Text Box: entertaining and successful evening.

Text Box: As some of you are already aware, there is a theatre class that is currently being instructed by Mrs. Lister. The participants are none other than our own BIA students.
