Super Grade Equivalencies!
With this past year's scores in, our students and their parents can celebrate another successful academic year. We administered the TerraNova Test (formerly known as the California Achievement Test) as we have done every April. Our scores are summarized below by grade level. As you can see, every grade, on average, scored at or considerably above their grade level on nearly every content area tested. We've included six of the eleven scores here.
For example, looking at 8th grade, the students scored at an 11th grade level in Science, an advanced 12th grade level in Math Computations, an advanced 11th grade level in overall Mathematics, an advanced 9th grade level in Language, and an advanced 11th grade level in Reading. The Total Score, a summary score based on the Mathematics, Language and Reading scores, tells us that the 8th graders, on average, are learning at an 11th grade level.
Of course, individual student scores reflect individual achievements in the various areas. Yet the conclusion is evident that BHS students do extremely well, and the longer they study with us, the greater the rate at which they surpass national averages.
