The Voice of the Mute, and the Ears of the Deaf        Student Council is a group of dedicated and responsible stduents who devote much of their own time and effort in order to organize, discuss, and implement almost all school social functions. All Student Council members, with the exception of the president, are selected by the entire student body through an election process. The president is elected by the school's staff by proving that he/she is responsible, diligent, and motivated enough to be suitable for the position.         As stated above, the Council is in charge of most student activities, which includes fundraisers to raise money for the activities as well. Each meeting, held once a week for about an hour, consists of discussing and organizing past and future events. Generally, tasks are assigned to individuals who are most apt for the job according to their specific talents and resources. The Student Council is truly a body that cannot function unless each part does its job correctly. In an interdependent circle, the members learn to cooperate and work with many others.         The Student Council members' purpose is to serve the student body and unify the school as a whole. Each member does his/her best to represent the voice of every student in the meetings, bringing fresh ideas and different outlooks of our diverse student body. The Council strives its best to be the voice of the mute, and ears of the deaf. |
